Experience
I earned my B.A in Secondary Education with a focus on history from Millikin University, where I graduated with honors. Since graduating in 2007, I have been working at Wheaton North High School in Illinois. During my post-graduate work, I have been focused on my professional development by working on earning a Learning Behavior Specialist-1 endorsement through North Central College in Naperville. I have been tutoring K-12 students in math, English, and general knowledge skills here in Naperville for over a year. My main goal is to assist students in developing critical thinking skills and to apply these skills to major concepts or situations. I prefer to work in a one-on-one settings to help with this process. My teaching philosophy is constantly being adjusted to best suit my students' individual needs. While I tutor in a variety of subjects, my favorites are history, government, and psychology. My time at Wheaton North has allowed me the opportunity to also pre-algebra, algebra, biology, and geometry. I also have vast experience with aiding a student in writing papers, completing projects, and studying for tests. In my spare time, I write short stories, work on my novel, and read historical non-fiction.
